0 Reviews Affect On Sales
Hello, my fiancee and I just began selling antiques and historical items on Ebay, but we are having trouble getting a first sale. For example we have a WWI German Reserve Pickelhaube helmet, they sell for a good penny, and do often via auctions in far worse condition than ours.
We have 0 reviews, and it had just clicked in our minds that that is likely one of the major problems, even personally, Ebay or Mercari, I am scared to buy from new sellers, ESPECIALLY expensive items.
Besides that, how do reviews affect visibility, and the algorithm and do any of you have useful resources? And yes, we just found the Ebay Academy. 🙂

·2 years agoI would not do auctions at this time...especially the cool helmet.
You as a beginner probably but just guessing know very little about how eBay works.
I am still learning new things every week selling in eBay.
Its a learning experience.
I would begin selling cheap items to get an understanding of selling here.
I would do everything as buy it now.
I would also do returns...since "no returns" doesn't mean "no returns" on eBay.
Even how we get paid can be complicated...let us tell you.
I would keep listings more items...that would help you attract buyers knowing you are not trying to make fast money here selling one or two items.
And lastly....expect 30+ days to receive any funds on sales as a "new seller".

You need good close up photos of the items with good descriptions and mention any little flaws or defects.
