Buyer doesn’t know how to mark item received
A buyer purchased an item from me and selected shipping but then opted to pick up the item. I refunded the purchase in the amount of the shipping label but he doesn’t know how to indicate he has received the item and I don’t know how to do that for him. Until the order is marked delivered I can’t get paid. Any advice?

·1 month agoEbay doesn't work like that. You needed to ship as that was how the listing was set up. When using local pick up there is a code, or QR code to enter as proof of delivery....or more complicated but eBay does say a signed invoice by the buyer works, too bit this would have to be sent to ebay to prove delivery. Without doing any of this, you will get a late shipments ding and funds could've held for the maximum duration.
And of the buyer wants to return, that becomes complicated, too

Normally the best thing to do is agree with the Buyer to Cancel the original transaction and relist it with the desired shipping or local pick up setting. Buyers have NO way to mark an item received.
Local pickup: eBay issues the Buyer two things, a QR code and a 6 digit code. EITHER of those items are given to the Seller at the scheduled pick up by the Buyer. That tells eBay that part of the transaction is complete.
When you sell something with Shipping eBay expects to see a valid tracking number uploaded to the sold file within your stated Handling time, this will avoid a late shipping defect.
New and low activity Sellers can have their funds held up to 31 days ... or if there is no tracking they may put a hold on the funds: Transaction holds | eBay
