Warranty
Bought ac Compressor , it failed few months, on selling page it has a 3 year warranty.. seller won’t reply, eBay message seller still no reply, I contacted Manufacture , they can’t do anything because no record to proof I purchase said item. They tried to help in many ways, such as using my address to see if they had posted directly from their , No record , ! Long and short to all this is after multiple conversations with eBay over the last weeks ends today with . eBay can’t make sellers respond. Yet only way I can get help with warranty is thru the seller. Sad !

·2 years agoUnless the seller was an authorized dealer for the manufacture, most manufactures wont stand behind their warranties on items sold on places like Ebay.
When you received it, you would have to register it with the manufacture for the warranty to be any good.

OP2 years agoManufacturers are willing to honor the warranty, . As they stated. Matter of providing purchase info , basically all it takes is for seller to contact them !! That it !!!
but as said eBay say they can’t make a seller respond to any messages !!!

Did seller have more than 1?
Was item new?
What number is next to the sellers name?
When did seller begin here as a member? (Click that 'number'- it will show when seller started selling here)

·2 years agoYes the manufacture will honor a warranty (many are limited warranty's as well) with receipt from an authorized dealer. They have no idea where you purchased it (if authorized or not) but they should be able to find out where it was sent via the serial number of the unit. Not sure if they would be willing to find that out for you but they know where there products are shipped to. (distributors, retailers ect.) Always print out receipts on items that may have a warranty.
You may be able to inquire with your bank/credit card used for the purchase. If the seller is refusing to respond to you, you may want to let them know you would be contacting your bank for a possible dispute.

If they just bought it and resold it, you would not be the original buyer and they probably wont honor the warranty.

·2 years agoIf it was within the past 90 days the information on the sale should still be on Ebay.
If so, check purchases under myEbay and access the order and print proof of purchase. See if the manufacturer will accept something you print.
I would not expect a manufacturer's warranty to be in effect on an item purchased on Ebay unless I knew that the seller was a manufacturer authorized reseller,
There are far too many sellers selling liquidation stock and retail purchases where the warranty is not valid.
