You'll get hundreds of results how scammer /sellers game the UPS privacy rules and never send any actual product to your home. So Ebay must have known about this for years and does nothing about it. Where the heck is the executive leadership of the company? Hello? I even have proof of delivery to the wrong address and have been jumping through hoops with Ebay only to get scripted AI letters back saying they can't help me "because a product was delivered to my city and state" delivery was made, case closed.
If tracking shows delivery, but nothing arrives, contact the shipping service to determine if the tracking corresponds to a delivery to your address.
If you can obtain hard copy documentation that the tracking does not correspond to a delivery to your address, contact eBay via social media and explain that you have a case of "false tracking" and you should be given the opportunity to provide your documentation to eBay via direct message. This is different than the usual "item not received" case which is handled automatically and which allows the seller to win by providing tracking that shows delivery.
You can avoid many issues entirely by choosing to only do business with experienced sellers that have a proven track record of delivering similar items as seen by examining the seller's feedback page, and by avoiding inexperienced sellers, sellers with patterns of negative feedback indicating serious problems, or sellers with large gaps in the selling history or recent drastic changes of seller behavior.
They are going to try to keep scamming your friend again. They scammer will say if you send an additional 1,000 for insurance or fees, then you will get your RV. Tell your friend don't fall for it. Don't send any more money. There is no RV and the money your friend sent is gone.
I do not see any point to these posts. People have been coming here for over 20 years complaining about scams and they just continue to go on and on and on. There needs to be another forum dedicated to only scams.
From my read of the terms of use, these posts should be removed as they are not related to "Motors" but belong in their own category.
You might not see the point of this post but I do. The member here thought "his friend" was buying a motor vehicle from eBay so he came to the motors board to discuss it.
If there was a scam board then a lot of buyers on here that didn't receive their item or received an item not as described would go there because they think oh they bought something on eBay and the seller scammed them. It would be jammed, a farce.

The reason the scams continue to happen is that people fall for them. The more people become educated as to what the scams look like and they can recognize them, the less apt they are to become victims.

Any vehicle advertised on another marketplace that says eBay will contact you to handle the sale is a scam; eBay does not warehouse or ship vehicles. eBay transactions take place on eBay, not off site and not through email.
There is no vehicle (just stolen photos) and the scammer is likely overseas. If you send them money or gift card codes there will be no way to retrieve those funds. When the price looks too good to be true, it usually is.

Report the listing to the venue where you found the fraudulent ad using these links: Facebook Marketplace | Craigslist | OfferUp | Nextdoor
If you received any emails that pretend to be from eBay Motors, forward them to spoof@ebay.com
You can report the scammer to the email provider they used such as Google (Gmail), Yahoo, Hotmail, etc.
