Garage knows my cars!!??
Just looked at eBay garage for the first time, how on earth does it know what my cars are? I have never out any details about them into eBay, or bought any parts etc.... Thanks

·2 years agoI have just looked at Ebay garage - never even knew it existed until today when it popped up when I logged in and it knew my car details - I have never even bought car parts from Ebay - this is wrong

·2 years agoIt is not tough to figure out. Somewhere you bought items and used the vehicle choice and the system keeps track of that and concludes the vehicles in your garage.
There is no satellite spying on you. You input your own information.

·2 years agoNo, it’s just that everything is connected when you’re online.
My current and most recent former cars are visible easily on CarFax. I can look up on CarFax when I most recently got an oil change. Small data packets using the cookies connected with sites remember which we looked at recently. So, after being on CarFax i go over to Google. I try to find something car related and Google pops up with a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander.
My point being that it’s not that eBay is searching for something you have. It’s that your device stitches together bits of data, and if you look for something about a certain topic somewhere online, and then go elsewhere, your device knows what you’ve been looking at and will put that together with something else it sees that you might be interested in.

·2 years agoYour vehicle registration with your state is probably searchable online, somewhere.
That's how the extended warranty scams know what kind of vehicle people have, to send their fake reminder notices to active their extended warranty. They even send them for new cars, that still have the manufacturer's warranty.

·2 years agoIf you ever searched for any auto parts and entered the make, model, year and other details into the part finder, eBay will remember that.
