Fraudulent Selling Practices

People put fake OEM lables and or stickers on boxes in item listings that lead buyers to beleave the items are orignals when they are either aftermarket or counterfeir. I think this practice should be outlawed and the listings should clearly say "AFTERMARKET!"

Hello,

As a Ford Dealership we deal with this all the time while trying to sell our real OEM Ford Parts. It sucks sometimes because some customers think they are better buying the fake knockoffs for a quarter the price just to be disappointed later on when they could've just bought the real parts and been happy long term. Some people don't understand that you get what you pay for, buy cheap get cheap.

But overall trying to sell real parts vs fake parts is hard in the vehicle repair industry, everyone wants things for the cheapest which you can't blame people for that, but is it really that cheap if you have to keep replacing the same things over and over again?

The main issue now "for me anyway"....sellers pricing the cheap stuff, higher. You can no longer go by price as an assurance of quality.

I would suggest making the part yourself for premium quality control oversight.

Most sellers using the term OEM as a keyword, little to none of them are aware of what actually OEM is. A buyer must ask seller before a purchase to identify or share what they are going to send.

There is a difference between counterfeit and aftermarket.

Counterfeit is made to look like the real item tags and all. This are 100% not allowed to be sold here.

IF you receive a counterfeit item, file a return request.

Aftermarket items are items made to work with the original item. They have their own branding and as long as they dont "pretend" it is the OEM item with same labels, can be sold here.

Read the MBG and be prepared to file for a return.

I also never buy from a seller in China even if they say "shipping from US" - saves a lot of time returning counterfeit item.
