·4 days agoYeah being able to filter this stuff out would be good. I’ll never use it and I hate auto play videos, this is taking up my bandwidth uselessly. If it can’t be disabled I’ll be off.

·1 week agoI have turned all the notifications off in my settings but they are still coming in droves. What's the point of having an "off" setting if it doesn't work? This is insane. Ebay is like AI-infected trash now.

I honestly used to get excited when receiving an eBay notification via the app telling me that i have possibly sold an item, but almost over night, every single notification is about an eBay live notification; which I don’t want. Is anyone here feeling the same way about this?

·1 week agoI was shopping in a store and heard loud talking. Both my husband and I thought it was a radio somewhere. Actually it was eBay live and I somehow I purchased something and didn't know what it was or how it happened. I immediately contacted the sellers to cancel the purchase, they were unwilling to cancel the purchase. I talked to eBay and they said to instruct the sellers not to send the item. The item was sent anyway. Now I am going through my bank hoping for some recourse. I have been a member of eBay since the early 90's. This is my first dispute and they wouldn't help me. There has to be a way to totally turn eBay live off.

·1 week agouse the "ublock origin" in firefox extension, just use the eye dropper tool and rollover the area (the outer area) of where the videos are playing and block them with a new rule.. should be pretty automatic. it works great.. screw ebay for being annoying. i remember the days when web sites starting using animated GIFs and they were sidelined quickly for being annoying turds, Ebay is no different now.

·1 week agoWow, this was super easy, thanks for that info. Makes it much more pleasant again. I turned off the giant "live" window at the top and the annoying group of them part of the way down the page.

·2 weeks agoThis started the moment I bid on a Live auction. Now I get an alert for what seems to be every Live auction, and there doesn’t seem to be a way to stop them.
This feels like a bug.

·2 weeks agoI have the eBay Live toggle off in my phone settings, but the Google search states no way to turn it off in the app itself. So I am here because I have received 15 live event notifications every 12 to 20 minutes so I can't find a message on anything I have purchased.
This is way dumber than stupid can be defined. I cannot possibly keep up with deleting all the live events if I were paid full time.
Today's technology and you can't turn it off?
What level of stupid is this?

·2 weeks agoYou can very easily create a filter with microblock origin in firefox to block elements of any page you don't like. I use it on youtoube all the time to eliminate "shorts." I'm not sure this is possible on Android or iOS, but really, you shouldn't be using rubbish OSes for shopping and banking anyway. It really isn't worth $10 off.

·3 weeks agoThis NEEDS to go. What a gross distraction. Takes all the fun out of it. I don't even want to click on eBay anymore so if their goal is to alienate their user base it's working. I've already found much better solutions selling locally and I simply don't trust eBay any longer. No longer fun, no longer spending money here. Sad how these corporations are hellbent on making everything so much worse.

·Aug 10, 2026 at 7:10 PMI found this thread while trying to find a way to stop the Live videos from playing automatically in my eBay app feeds because this is a big accessibility no-no. I had a stroke and now have to turn off autoplaying video in web browsers because it causes nausea similar to motion sickness. Aside from that I agree with other posters that the random "no news" irrelevant-to-me notifications are extremely irritating. I have enough admin to deal with every day, without having to process all this garbage. It seems the designers are not putting our needs first. I'm mainly a buyer, occasionally a seller. The vids are appearing in searches as well as the homepage, which as someone else pointed out is the default view on the app. Please give us the option to turn the autoplaying off, at least.

·1 month agoI hope someone posts on Reddit or other site when turning off live feed becomes possible because the live feed makes my neck muscles tighten up until my shoulders touch my ears within seconds. I hate it with every fiber of my being.
I am logging out and unsubscribing to emails until someone lets me know that blipvert headache inducing mess can be hidden permanently.

·1 month agoI don't think it's a bad feature if people are enjoying it. But I do agree it needs a way to be turned off, especially on mobile. My notifications get bombarded, absolutely barraged with these notifications. I have no need for it. I'm a reseller of Amazon returns, not coins, cards, shoes of any sort. I have no interest in eBay live. I do not need 30 notifications a day for something I'm not interested in.

If you don't want to see eBay Live, don't go to the main eBay page where it is shown. Go to literally any other eBay page. Or set up your ad blocker to block that feature.

·1 month agoPosting a complaint here or saying "let the people turn it off" does not actually address the issue, though, unless eBay acts on your complaint and actually changes how it works.
While you are waiting for eBay to act, you can, in fact, turn it off -- for you -- all by yourself.

Seeing the ebay live on the homepage is garbage but the real complaint is in the literal 40 a day ebay live notification. Not everyone is computer literate and can set up an as blocker. These complaints are necessary and warranted.

Messages are flooded with them even though I have push notifications off .

·1 month agoI use desktop and it comes up when I do comps, it drives me nuts. The evil from software creators to make me turn my eyes away, how dare they! Google's AI (Always-Wrong Intelligence) gives improper methods to shut it all off.

·4 months agoMy homepage is full of garbage, no way to get rid of it, when they first started it, i purchased, to check the experience and it was OK, but I hate it, don't want it, don't care for it. why can't i turn this off?
Each evening I get notifications that a store is now LIVE, not just one for one store but 3 or 4 each evening that they are starting 3 or 4 times.

·1 week agoTry getting 40 ebay live notifications a day with eBay live notifications turned off. I dont use eBay live. Never have. We aren't stupid. We know if we dont like it not to use it but that doesn't matter. They make it part of our lives. I can go straight to seller mode everytime but that doesn't fix me having eBay alert me on some bull carp that has nothing to do with my selling except have me go from getting excited to now numb from knowing theres a 99% chance its just more junk mail from eBay. On top of all that im worried because while you guys are using work arounds and running from the issue more and more buyers are leaving this platform and thats a problem for me. What I really want to say i cant say on here because I am to be a respectful seller with class and integrity but what I will say is I dont appreciate the condescending tone of your reply and I feel people like you are part of the greater problem.

If you are using a desktop browser, picking a different eBay page as your home page, such as your Watch List, Summary or the Saved Feed page is by far the easiest way to avoid things that eBay puts on the main page you do not want to see.
If you use a desktop browser that supports ad blockers with custom rules, you may be able to figure out how to use an element hiding tool to block those things if you are sufficiently motivated.
If you are using the eBay app, try using the shake-to-report feature to let eBay know your opinion of the auto-playing livestream video on the main page after navigating to a different page.

If the "shake to report" feature is enabled in your app settings and the app is active in the foreground, shaking your device should bring up a "shake to report" screen to submit a report to eBay.
On my phone shaking also activates the phone's light, so I have to shake again to turn the light off, then submit the report.
