Which iPadOS are you using @mcljemc.2icgwtrjx ? If you have an older device (Air 2 or Mini 4) and can't upgrade past iPadOS 15, follow eBay's instructions from this post:
If your device has iOS 15 you should still be able to get a version of the app that will run on your device
Delete your eBay app
Go to the App Store, search for eBay
When you download it you will see this alert, tapping download should allow you to get a version that will run on your device.

You aren't addressing eBay in this forum. This is a discussion board of eBay buyers and sellers.
Do you really think eBay knows when you're trying to update your iPad? To ease your mind I can tell you they don't. Updating your iPad is not an eBay issue. To update your iPad you need to go to your settings, find general then, software update.
