OP1 year agoStill not working - just keeps returning to the same message although I did exactly as
recommended and uninstalled App and then reinstalled. Also tried to do it on Google - did the
same thing. Have been on eBay for decades!

·1 year agoIf Android 9 or earlier @fairyqueenjulia see below in bold.
Instructions here: How to update your eBay app
- Requires Android 10 or later
- Requires iOS 17 or later, but there are directions for iOS 16 users to download an older version of the app
If you have iOS 15 or Android 9 and cannot update to a compatible OS, you can still access eBay from a web browser on your device, and you'll probably want to delete the app so links open in your browser instead of the app.

OP1 year agoThank you but nothing anybody has advised has been
successful so not bothering any more - I’ll stick to Vinted.

Deleting the eBay app and using a mobile browser to go to ebay.co.uk still works.

OP1 year agoI did that and it and it’s OK at first then just goes back to the
original message - UPDATE APP
but thanks for getting back

·1 year agoIt appears you're missing the step of deleting the app @fairyqueenjulia . After that go to your web browser to use the website. Ignore any prompts to download the app.

Delete the app completely and do not reinstall it. Then use your browser.
If you are getting a message telling you to update the app it is because the app is still on your phone.

According to a post on the UK community boards, the latest version of the eBay app requires Android 10 or later, or iOS 17 or later.
https://community.ebay.co.uk/t5/Technical-Issues/Pictures-missing-using-APP/m-p/7762881/highlight/tr...
There is another version of the app available for iOS 16 users; see here:
https://community.ebay.com/t5/Mobile-Apps/How-to-update-your-eBay-app/m-p/34920437#M50572
A possible workaround for iOS 15 users is suggested here:

If you cannot upgrade your operating system or find an older version of the app that works with your current operating system, you should still be able to use a browser to go to ebay.co.uk instead.
If eBay browser links are opening in the Android version of the app automatically, you can disable that by going to your device Settings: Apps: eBay: Open by default: Opens supported links and choosing "Don't open in the app". iOS users can tap and hold an eBay browser link and choose "Don't open in the app".
