Technical Issue: Incorrect "Highest Bidder" Status
I am writing to formally complain about a technical error in the eBay mobile app that occurred during the final seconds of auction for Item #389893545789.
While I received outbid notifications earlier in the auction, the app’s interface failed to update during the final 30 seconds. According to the app's real-time display, I remained the 'Highest Bidder' until the auction closed. Only after the auction ended I realized I had been outbid.
Because the app incorrectly displayed me as the winner during that critical 30-second window, I was denied the opportunity to react and place a counter-bid. I request that you look into this synchronization lag and provide an explanation for why the app display did not reflect the true status of the auction in real-time.

The eBay app does not provide real-time notifications, nor should it be relied on to do so. Neither does a browser.
Even if the app were to provide real-time notifications, it would still be possible for a bid to arrive in the last seconds of an auction too late for you to react and rebid.
Rather than counting on being able to react to an outbid notification, you are much better off bidding the maximum you are willing to pay before the auction ends without regard to what others are bidding, rather than waiting until you are outbid to bid again.
Bidding less than your maximum just leaves you open to losing to a bid you were willing to match or beat for no apparent benefit, as you have seen.
