I’ve lost your ability to take a picture in eBay
Summary: hawks013 reported losing the ability to search and list products by taking a picture on eBay after upgrading their subscription to include categories. Although they followed advice to update and reinstall the app, the issue persisted. redline86 experienced a similar problem and hoped it was a temporary backend issue, asking if it was resolved for hawks013. There was no confirmation of a solution.
Hello, I just recently today a few hours ago updated to basic so I could get categories and list my products in my store by category. It was the only way to do that is to have a subscription immediately after that I lost the ability to take a picture of a product and have eBay search for it for me and help me list it now I get a picture of a shoe and in a text box asking me what am I looking for and if I don’t know, it gives me a generic non-descriptive listing of the item has anybody else had this problem this just happened I went and talked to the AI and it said it’s a software issue make sure I have everything up-to-date and I do and if that doesn’t work, uninstall the app reinstall the app and see if that works. What do I do when that? Doesn’t anybody have any help please.

According to wastingtime101, the following info may be relevant:
"If you see a camera icon on the upper right of the "tell us what you're selling" box, then you're already using the simple listing tool, but your account is no longer eligible to use the magical lister (where AI creates the entire listing for you based on photos). The magical lister is only available to new/casual sellers right now.
If you see a barcode icon on the upper right of the "tell us what you're selling" box, then you're using the business listing tool. You have to switch to the simple listing tool to find out whether your account is still eligible to use the magical lister.
***Note: You cannot switch to the simple listing tool if you are using business policies, or if you're opted in to Seller Hub, or if you're using variations. You have to first opt out of those features to make the switch.
That said, here's how to switch from the business to the simple listing tool:
Close out app.
Log in to the website. Open a draft. On the top right corner switch from the business listing tool to the basic listing tool. Save changes to draft and close.
Log back in to the app. Open your draft. You should now be back on the listing form you want."
