How to turn off eBay Live Notifications (v.2.0)
Creating a new post with all info consolidated as I find myself answering this question nearly every day.
To turn OFF eBay Live Notifications, log in to the eBay app and turn off these settings:
For reminders about upcoming eBay Live events:
My eBay > Settings > Notifications > Recommendations and Rewards > General Promotions
For updates about live events you've registered for or items purchased prior to a stream:
My eBay > Settings > Notifications > Shopping Updates > eBay Live

Troubleshooting when your notification settings are grayed out and/or locked:
Turn off eBay push notifications entirely, then turn them back on. If that doesn't work, delete the eBay app, reboot your phone, then do a clean install of the eBay app.

·6 months agoThis does not get rid of the annoying ebay live tab, which was the original question, only the notifications.

OP8 months agoI didn't think an update was needed since the process changed not long after this post, and questions stopped rolling in, but since ecommercebytes recently posted an article discussing this out of date post, I am adding an update showing the current settings to turn on/off eBay Live notifications.
It's no longer necessary to adjust the General Promotions notification and this hasn't been a pain point for about 5 months. Everything is under eBay Live and eBay broke up the settings to give users more granularity. Users can choose which aspects of eBay Live they do / do not want notifications.
My eBay > Settings > Notifications > eBay Live
Screens are from iOS. Android is similar. Thank you for listening to app users' feedback on this, eBay.

OP1 year agoIt works with Android and iOS @wvwoo_61 . You'll need to provide more details than "doesn't work" for assistance.

·1 year agoLooks like you got the same thing I did. Just choices preselected with no ability to change them.
I tried following the eBay instructions but unable to get the instructions to work either.
Android devices
When I get to step 5, I do not know what the Menu is and there are no clickable links available in the top left-hand corner.

I did not find the Menu as stated in step 5, however I clicked on the My eBay button on the bottom of screen and then on next page I scrolled down and clicked the Settings button. On next screen there was the Notifications link. After clicking I was then able to change the notifications.

OP1 year ago@wvwoo_61 The info was provided in the first post on this thread. Follow these steps and come back to confirm if you're able to access your notification settings without error.
Troubleshooting when your notification settings are grayed out and/or locked:
delete the eBay app, reboot your phone, then do a clean install of the eBay app.

·1 year agothe android app version 6,223.0.5 does not allow me to change the preferences. Logged out and logged in again.
They are greyed out but checked.
