I am using the latest Android version of the eBay app (6.151.1.3), and there is not an option to change the message format. The default for me is the new "chat-style" format.
It is possible that the iOS version may be different; some users were having problems sending messages via the iOS version of the app, and it is possible that eBay has reverted to the "classic" message format as a result of that. Or eBay may be testing something.
You should check that you are using the latest version of the eBay app if you are experiencing problems, though.
Ok, mine was on the new chat style format, but yesterday it switched to classic, I didn't change it so am trying how to switch back to it. I am on IOS and iPhone
