Feature request: PIN-protected price limits for browsing
Summary: rodneborb_0 suggests adding an optional feature to eBay that allows users or caregivers to set a maximum price limit for browsing and purchases. This feature would hide items above the set amount from search results and recommendations, requiring a PIN or similar security to change the limit. This request is made to help manage the shopping habits of their autistic son, who fixates on expensive items. They ask for the suggestion to be forwarded to the development team for consideration.
Hello eBay,
I’m requesting an optional feature that lets a user or caregiver set a maximum item price for browsing and purchases. Items above that amount would be hidden from search results and recommendations, and changing the limit would require a separate PIN, password, or two-step verification.
Our adult son is autistic and enjoys shopping online. When he becomes fixated on an item, it can be extremely difficult for him to move on. Right now, he is focused on a Shrek TV/DVD or VHS combination listed for more than $6,000 Canadian. A protected price limit would let him continue browsing while helping our family manage situations like this.
Please forward this suggestion to the team responsible for the eBay app and accessibility features. I would appreciate knowing whether anything similar is planned.
Thank you,
Rodney Borba

·1 week agoThere is already something like that available on your searches. It's in the right column and you can set the min and max prices you want to see.
It has to be set for each search which makes sense as I think most people search for a variety of products at various price points.
A set limit would have very little application for most people.
Note we also have an autistic son with the same fixation on items. We just monitor what he is looking at.
