eBay Live is going to make me boycott eBay
At this point the internet is nothing but a flaming trash heap. Believe it or not eBay was the only place I could still have something resembling fun online. I’d just put in random words and scroll through the results. But now eBay includes ads for their live selling **bleep** over and over and over and over and over. The same hucksters with AI slop ad nauseam, burning into my brain. A scrolling session will show me the same ADVERTISEMENTS like a hundred times.
That’s what I get for years of patronage? An onslaught of marketing. A brutal bludgeoning with the exact same autoplay video a hundred times. No option to turn it off because some corporate panel thinks that on the 10,000th time I see it I will finally click and then start a steady regimen of buying watches from some AI slop carnival barker.
No way! In 2026 corporate America is done pretending that the user experience is a factor in their decision making. All that matters to them is that we have untapped spending potential. If they just keep the campaign going for another 25k autoplays I’ll finally realize that I’m ready to watch people selling coins for hours each day. The fact that I’ve never searched for coins is immaterial.
How is the 1980s considered the height of corporate greed? It’s time to update the history books. The 2020s is an order of magnitude greedier and living through it is a slog.

·4 months agoI find those "Live" ads distasteful as well but I'm bombarded with them as you seem to be.
"I’d just put in random words and scroll through the results."
I wonder if that's why? Maybe try more specific searches. I sometimes do searches with for instance---------vintage bone handle-- and don't get any Live ads at all. Just alot of things with bone handles.
Maybe try keywords that might exclude anything sold on the "Live" format. Just a thought..............
