eBay error: "Buying Options you cannot purchase this item from our app. Add to your watch list."
I got this error when attempting to submit my bid during a recent auction. Adding the item to my watch list was irrelevant, because it was already in my watch list.
I would like to know two things:
1. What is the nature of this error, and
2. How is it that eBay is a publicly traded company that has a market cap greater than $1,250? Only a second-tier company can produce an app that has a bug when the consumer goes to make a purchase. After all, the buyer is eBay's source of income. And to think that the CEO believes that this error-infested company can compete with Amazon! I've never encountered an error using OfferUp, Temu, or even Mercari let alone Amazon, yet there eBay goes again, releasing error-prone software to the general public again without beta testing it. And this error ain't nothing compared to the last error, where eBay caused me to lose $60 in shipping fees (I chose FedEx at $19 to ship an item, and later got a bill from eBay for $60, which was the cost of shipping without the eBay discount. If that doesn't make any sense, welcome to the club!).

It is no longer possible to buy Kindle books on Android using the Amazon app. Buyers must use a browser.
There is no limit to Apple or Google's greed.

·11 months agoApparently that is not an error. From what I understand, since Apple began requiring a 30% cut of any sales of digitally-delivered items through any app sold through the App Store, eBay has stopped letting app users buy such items in many video game categories, instead requiring those purchases be made using a browser where Apple has no claim.
Of course it is possible that the new limitation may have been applied to items that do not qualify as digitally-delivered if they are in certain categories -- that may be an error in how the limitation is applied.
