App keeps crashing
Summary: Several participants are discussing issues with the eBay app crashing on iPad devices, stating that the problem persists despite updates and troubleshooting efforts like reinstalling the app and updating the device. dantebaboo mentions finding Vinted more reliable and notes attempts to resolve the issue were unsuccessful, while eburtonlab suggests restarting the device in between installations. bleeps101 and gibbsysimon report similar experiences and frustrations with the ongoing issue, highlighting that it has been a known problem for months without a resolution.
Using the app on iPad. Regularly crashes particularly when clicking on a picture to view within a listing. Loaded latest version of app manually and it still happens. Anyone else getting same problem? Annoying because it usually loses last viewed item etc.

·yesterday at 10:59 AMHaving the exact same issue. iPad Pro 6th gen running on iOS 26.6.2. This issue has persisted through at least 2 iOS releases. Have tried uninstalling the app, resets, even factory reset my iPad at some point (for something unrelated) but the issue persisted.
It seems to happen when clicking on a listing, or the photos inside a listing, it often lets me click 3-4 listings before it crashes, it is surprisingly consistent. The crashes also seem to happen more often in the evening (uk time), could be unrelated though.

·5 days agoI’m having exactly the same issue. Just updated to 27.0.01 and the issue is still there. Tried everything suggested here. Even had apple support look at it. Definitely an issue with the app and Apple devices. Is there a fix date from eBay yet?

·1 month ago · EditedSame issue. iPad Pro 2024 running latest iPadOS, latest eBay app from the app store. Restarted/reinstalled etc. Click on a listing and app crashes. Try it again and same thing happens. Ended up deleting the app and just using Safari for web eBay. Not sure why this isnt fixed yet as its been a known issue for months.

·3 months agoSame problem, making eBay unusable. Decided vinted more reliable! iPad is fully updated as is the app and I’ve deleted and redownloaded, nothing works.

Have you restarted the iPad in between uninstalling and reinstalling? Doing so can help if the problem is that a previous install did not finish cleanly, which can prevent further updates.
Otherwise, report the issue to eBay and use a browser until there is a new app update to try.

What operating system version number and app version number are you using?
App issues can be reported to eBay by shaking your device while the app is active if that feature is enabled and the app is still running.
If uninstalling/restarting/reinstalling the app does not help or if your operating system does not support the latest version of the eBay app, uninstall the app and use a browser to reach ebay.com instead.

OP4 months agoiPad Pro (3rd generation) running 26.4.2. IOS Update scheduled for tonight
eBay app 6.257.0
Background updates on but have also manually uninstalled and reinstalled eBay app
The crashing issue has been present for a few months. No other apps are crashing
Difficult to use the shake function when the app has just crashed
I use the browser already (you have to to upload videos to listings in my experience) but would prefer to use the app and not have it crash
Posted to see if it’s just me or applies to other users
Thanks for replying

·4 months agoI am having the same issue. Can’t report by shaking the app if it crashes, and it does so without warning. Just after viewing several listing pages and it’s hard to know how many. My ipad and iPhone both do it, it’s super annoying. Already uninstalled, shut down and left device down for several minutes, restarted, reinstalled, same behavior.
