App is having "network error" & "retry" using search or saved functions
For 3 days app is having constant issues with search or saved functions, "network error", "retry", and not showing all products available in a search, stops at roughly 75-100. My device is newer and fully updated as well as the app, even uninstalled app restarted phone and reinstalled. Many users are reporting this problem. As a buyer, very frustrating. As a seller, losing business if people cannot search and find listings.

·5 months agoI am also having this same exact problem. Ive seen a ton of people reporting this. There seems to be no fix until a patch is made available.

What operating system version number and app version number are you using?
App issues can be reported to eBay by shaking your device while the app is active if that feature is enabled and the app is still running.
If you have not already tried, it might be worth uninstalling the eBay app, restarting your device, then installing the latest version of the eBay app. The restart in between should ensure a clean install, which may help if the problem is related to a past installation.
If that does not help or if your operating system does not support the latest version of the eBay app, uninstall the app and use a browser to reach ebay.com instead.

OP6 months agoYes, if you actually read my entire post, I've already done all that. This is a site wide app issue affecting thousands of users.

·6 months agoYou have still not said what OS version or app version you are using.
If you are sure you actually have the latest OS version (not just the latest version your particular device supports, but the actual latest version that supports the eBay app) and the latest version of the app, and if you have tried uninstalling/restarting/installing the app and that does not help, and you have reported the issue to eBay by shaking your device, then there is nothing else for you to do except use a mobile browser to reach eBay instead of the app, at least until there is a newer version of the app for you to try.

OP6 months agoI have ACTUALLY done all that including shaking phone to report. Not an idiot.

·6 months agoSometimes it is difficult to determine if a user is an idiot or just won't answer a simple question.
There are several situations that might result in the same error you are seeing: one of them is if the user has an older operating system, or an older version of the app. Another situation is if there is a problem with a specific OS that prevents the latest version of the app from working. Or a problem that prevents the user from getting the latest version of the app.
In many cases, a user that says the user has the latest OS or the latest version of the app may not actually have one or the other, despite not actually being an idiot. It happens more often than you would think. For instance, Android users with an older version of Google Play Services or Google Play Store -- common on brand new phones that may have been sitting on a shelf for a while -- may think that they have installed the latest version of the eBay app, but they may not know that Google is not showing them the latest version in the Google Play Store at all.
By the time many users realize that they have an older version of the app, or that their OS does not support the latest version of the app, they will have wasted a lot of time that could have been better used pursuing other courses of action much sooner.
Knowing which OS and app version the user is dealing helps to determine which sort of problem the user is actually having, and what sorts of things can be done about it.
