Alerts on my phone
I use to get alerts on my phone when someone bought/bid on one of my items or I when I received a message. now I'm not getting them anymore, can someone tell me why I may not be getting alerts when there is activity with my ebay. Tired of looking at my ebay at night and seeing someone bought something from me during the day and didn't notice it. Thanks for any help

·11 months agoI don't actually use the app, but do like getting the notifications on my phone. For me it's always occasionally skipped some or stopped sending any at all. Does seem like it's been worse recently though. I find that actually opening the app tends to trigger the missed notifications and I'll keep getting them normally, until I don't again...

That can be a sign that the app is being "put to sleep" by battery optimization, which can cause notifications to be missed until the app is opened again.
In the Android version of the app there is a "Diagnose Notifications" tool at the bottom of the Settings: Push Notifications screen that can be used to see which settings are interfering with notifications.
Not sure if the latest iOS version has something similar.
If not, look closely at your notification settings to see if they have changed since the last update. It might be worth toggling some of the notifications off and back on to see if that makes a difference.

·11 months agoiOS version doesn't have diagnostics and probably never will. That's exclusively Android. 😉
But yeah, depending on the phone's battery optimization setting it can pause things like notifications, background app updates, etc. Good info there @eburtonlab .
Looks like @gooofball figured it out but the first steps are generally to check your notification settings, make sure the app is up to date, do a reboot, or even a reboot with a clean install if needed.

·11 months agoI had the notifications...then I didn't....then I did. No idea why though I think it had to do with the phone settings and probably someone else in the family got it done. good luck! I get dings whenever I list something and I admit I could do without that.

Check your Site Preferences and make sure something didn't get changed. That is the place to start. If all looks good there, then you are going to need to contact Ebay as they can see your account set up and no one here can see any of that. Good Luck!
On each Ebay page there is a link to contact Customer Service at the top of the page and again at the bottom of the page.
I would suggest that you contact Ebay for Business on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter for the better trained CSRs.

Your options will be on the left. If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options. Not all options are available 24/7. It will depend on staffing available. So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't. Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me. If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.
If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.
If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.
