1 min. videos for listings
I have been trying to load videos to my listings from my apple phone with no success. Was the video loading a beta project or is it category specific? Has anybody had any success with the videos with their listings or is this the case of "operator error"? I understand that some listed items don't need or can't use a video, but I have seen some listings on the site that the videos seem to be working just fine. Thanks.

You will want to ensure the video isn't too large. It needs to be 150MB or less in size. You'll also want to make sure it is in the proper output (MP4 file types). I find it is much easier to edit the video on my phone to ensure it is the correct size. eBay says that 1 minute is the max length, however, I've been a few seconds over and it still uploads fine. The key is 150MB size limit as it will not let you upload if you are even slightly over that.
@roccotacodad54 Videos are absolutely good for items where they are helpful. If an item makes noise or has some function that a photo cannot clearly communicate, a video is a must, in my view. I do not buy from sellers who tell me "This item works," but does not show me that it works. If an item takes batteries and moves, show me that. There are buyers who look for that stuff and are willing to pay more for that attention to detail and assurance that what they are getting works. I do videos for typewriters, VCRs/DVD/Combo units, small appliances, clocks, toys, and more. I wouldn't do it for static items, like a coffee mug. If I want to play QVC, I'd get into live selling.

Yes that was just from my point of view. If it has moving parts etc. I want to examine it first hand before buying. I see some static items where the seller does videos for some reason..................

·8 months agoJust a thought from a buyer. 95% of the time I learn nothing from a video of the item and usually just skip the video. Good photos with adequate lighting from all angles tells me way more than a second (maybe) of the angle I want to see in a video.
Descriptions (without AI) are also way more important than a video to me.
Just my experience with videos on eBay.

·8 months agoOP has some listings where videos would be great @roccotacodad54 . Like the music box, the tablet, and the backpack with a lot of pockets.

·8 months agoYea even with videos I won't buy items like that online. I want to examine any item with moving parts first hand before buying.
I know about the MBG and consider it a pain in the rear at best.
Just from my point of view is all...................

·8 months agoIt's an option on the website, not the app. Which are you using when trying to upload videos?

OP8 months agoThe app; so need to take the video on the phone then download it to the website on my laptop?
Thanks

·8 months agoYes. Or you can try to upload from the web browser on your phone.
eBay knows this is a pain point, but in all these years they have not yet built out functionality to support video uploads from the app.
