Seller is acting like there part wasnt messed up. They said they are reporting me to ebay.
Summary: portisroads purchased a performance clutch/flywheel kit that was supposed to fit their car but encountered significant issues, including incorrect thread pitches and undersized mounting holes, along with poor machining quality. Despite providing detailed measurements and photographic evidence to the vendor, the vendor responded dismissively, insisting their parts were correct and offering a partial refund. Frustrated by the vendor’s lack of understanding and responsiveness, portisroads plans to use the modified part due to an impending event and expresses frustrations about contacting eBay's customer service to address the issue.
So I bought a performance clutch/flywheel kit that was supposed to be for my car. Supposed to be able to bolt right in. Nope. I'll start that this is a track car and I'm trying to get it ready for a event and that I am a fabricator by trade.
First redflag was that there were machining burs all over the flywheel. I cleaned those up and started working on the car. I was resting and randomly took the bolt out of the original oem flywheel and tried to thread it by hand into the new lightened flywheel. Nope. The factory uses a M8x1(fine thread pitch) bolt. The flywheel and pressure plate hardware are reusable on these cars and not stretch bolts(one time use) like on some cars. So I had just planned on reusing them to mount the new pressure plate to the new flywheel. Nope. They machined it to M8x1.25(coarse thread pitch). Red flag number 2.
So I get new hardware for mounting the pressure plate to the flywheel. Now I'm installing the flywheel to the crank of the motor. Nope. The stock flywheel to crank bolts are 12mm. The stock flywheel mounting holes measure 12.5mm. So .5mm over sized for clearance. The holes on the new pressure plate were 11.5mm. I gave them photo evidance of all of this and they said the didn't understand and that the were going to report me. I took measurements of the rest of the flywheel and everything spec'ed correct so I'm am still going to use it. I was just trying to let them know what the issue was, and they are acting like they didn't do anything wrong.

Messages back and forth from seller
A stock miata uses a 12mm bolt to mount the flywheel to the crank. Your holes in the flywheel to mount it to the crank were 11.5mm. The stock flywheel has 12.5mm holes. How do yoy nit understand thar your holes were undersized

It's a 95 Mazda Miata with the 1.8 BP. I included photos of the factory flywheel(12.5mm crank mounting holes) and your flywheel(11.5mm holes). I used what you sent me! Black hardware is M8 x 1 which is factory pressure plate mounting hardware. The hardware required to mount your pressure plate was M8x 1.25. I'm saying your parts were built terribly. Finger cutting burs all over it! Did you see the pictures of the crank mounting holes on the flywheel were 11.54mm in diameter when a 12mm bolt is supposed to go through. You can see the measurement of a factory flywheel was 12.5mm. You were an entire mm off. I had to use a 12mm reamer to make it work. I don't know how disconnected your sales are from manufacturing, but the quality control is terrible. I'm just letting you know in case you actually care. This kit seemed like it was supposed to be a cut and paste install, but it most definately wasn't.

If you use different items than stock OEM specification, this item will not work. That is a correct right?? Does that make sense? We are not sure what you want us to do even we shipped right clutch and flywheel. Also, you did not have to drill holes and we are not sure what the issues were. We will just keep the negative feedback even you make no sense. Thank you for leaving us a negative feedback and will report you and also we will block you for future bidding.

Hello,Thank you for your response. The specification has to be same as factory clutch specification in order to fit. If they are different from the factory if not it will not work. What you are telling us does not make any sense. Can you email us back the year, make, model and engine size? Email us back. Thank you.Best regards,Jason S. Yes, that's fine. Did the photos included in the original email not go through? Also, why wouldn't you tap the holes for the pressure plate the same as factory? Factory uses fine threads where as yours uses coarse thread. The crank mounting bolt holes were all undersized to install the flywheel to the crank. There were also machining burs all over the flywheel. It was like this was a Friday at 4:50 P.M. clocking out at 5 flywheel. Just zero care about quality.

I don't know why you are calling it a custom application. It should just be a literal copy of a factory flywheel, made out of chromoly and lighter. There are tons of examples of how to do it. I love that it's advertised as made in the u.s. too. Unless you want to over night an actually inspected one of your flywheels, I'm just going to run it as I have an event and need to have the car ready. I've taken other measurements and it appears like it's good enough. Also, you probably shouldn't have someone call super late in their timezone to address the matter unless asked. Nothing like getting a call while you are laying in bed trying to go to bed.

I can't figure out how to contact eBay directly. It is all a.i. b.s. I looked on the product page and they only have 1 negative feed back which absolutely blows my mind. This seemed like the easiest thing to understand if you actually know anything about this kind of stuff and they are acting like they just don't get it. The fact that they are reporting me like I did something wrong is even crazier.
