I’ve noticed that a few messages from the old, now‑defunct forum have somehow carried over into this one. How is that happening? Are posts being pulled in through Google Search indexing, or is there some kind of automated migration going on?
I also have questions about moderation on this forum. Posts by Sarah and myself were removed under a rather insulting thread, yet I didn't receive any notice that my post was deleted or any explanation for why. If moderation is being handled by an anonymous or automated system, who are we supposed to contact for clarification or appeal?
Right now, it feels like there’s no transparency and no way to understand what rules are being applied, or by whom. Some guidance on how moderation works — and how users can address mistakes — would be appreciated.

·1 month agoAm I the only one who sees the discussion pages in black or dark mode? I didn't choose it; it just opened up this way. I can't find a way to change it? Is this the new normal cause I'm not fond of it.

·1 month agoWhew! I found the switch. Apparently, it activated automatically for some folks when they added the option. It's a switch under your avatar.

·1 month agoThey didn't remove all the post from the old board.
They removed ones past a certain year, but don't remember which one.
I've had a few post removed and they don't say why.

·1 month agoI don't know how or who is moderating this group any more. When Denwolf set this group up, she did the moderating. When she left, she asked me to take over the moderation, which I did until this last move. I don't have moderation abilities anymore. Looks as though the nannies maybe back. I just don't know. Sorry.

·1 month agoI don't know what's happening and haven't had anything removed. But that being said, if their goal was to drive engagement down to zero, then the way they overhauled the channel and how they moderate it is excellent!

·1 month agoI too have had a post removed. They did send me a message saying it was being removed, but no explanation why. I considered it a helpful post, nothing offensive so I had questions. I tried to reach out to Patti about it and included a screen shot of their message and that too was removed. It left me confused and feeling odd.
I do believe 44012 is correct about how the old threads pop up.
I also wonder how are they moderating these boards and where on earth is Patti?

·1 month agoI did get a notice that my post was pulled, dream. That is all it said and I had even prefaced the 2 cute cat images with " For Fun!" before posting !
Apparently nanny/ mods have no sense of humor.
If I have to stifle mine on here now..I can assure you I won`t be here long. If they did not find the post in question offensive to those of us that HAVE been here for many years..shame on them!
Someone merely dug it up & posted to make themselves sound all knowing as to why the board had slowed down. Didn`t work for me tho..I was offended at their innuendos.
As to other old threads being dug up once in awhile..,I don`t have a clue. I understand what 44012 said as far as a legitimate call for help, but in the case of YOUR old thread being revived..that was not a cry for help.
Of course all above is MHO. (if thst is still allowed) 😒

·1 month ago · EditedI think that old messages are coming up because people are using the search function to find answers to their problem at hand. When they reply to an old post it gets populated back into the current forum setting. Also, on a desktop if you look to the right sometimes similar "old" questions come up that can be clicked to read. I don't know about the mobile app.....
I have had a few posts removed that I found out about days and sometimes weeks later without any reasoning - just that the post was removed.
In addition, I have realized that if you post a picture it ends up having to get approved by someone in the moderator world. Or maybe it is just AI.
As far as moderation, I can't even help suggesting an answer because things are SO vastly different now. At least in my own opinion.
