I see sellers calling it Ross Simons over and over again. Here are the reasons it isn't along with some samples of bracelets purchased from HSN and QVC.
1) I called Ross Simons and was told they don't mark their jewelry - only the packaging that comes with it
2) The mark belongs to a Chinese manufacturer called Prime Art & Jewel
3) HSN and QVC wouldn't sell Ross Simons jewelry
4) If Ross Simons did mark their jewelry, wouldn't it be with and RS instead of just an R?
5) Ross Simons is a jewelry designer and retailer. They outsource their manufacturing and do not mark the jewelry they sell
I know I'll continue seeing sellers calling their pieces bearing the stylized "R" mark Ross Simons, but this group is about more than showing jewelry. It's also about educating others on correct attributions when listing their items for sale.

This is not a jewelry only issue.
I remember buying a piece of art pottery in a antique group shop years back.
It was identified as
ROYAL RUDOLSTADT
It was clearly a piece of American Art Pottery, neither Prussian or European
It has this mark stamped on the bottom
Quite obviously early Roseville Pottery.
I enjoyed the profit I made selling the piece, at a time when Roseville Prices were at their peak.
Clearly the seller thought all Roseville was marked with the moulded script mark, and guessed at what the R was for.
