For some reason I read this entire article this morning (even tho it doesn`t pertain to me in any way)
FRIGHTENING is putting in mildly!!
For anyone that is using..has used..has a loved one using a breathing machine...
PLEASE READ this entire article!! It`s long but worth the read and Be prepared to get angry!

What else are companies keeping from us???

OP2 years agoAngry is not a strong enough word. For years companies have chosen profit over lives. Greed is an ugly thing.

OP3 years agoHope everyone is safe this morning. Looks like it was a bad storm.
We are in Sarcoxie, Mo. Ths place is wonderful. We found an RV repair place in Joplin for the RV and are working with the insurance company.
The original plan was to stay here until the middle of Oct so we could be here for the fall foliage. Then we were going to spend winter in Texas. But, because this is a great place and we are close to Michelle's mother and we will be staying here for the winter. Besides there are tons of antique stores and malls in this area. 🥰

·3 years agoOMFG. It was a journey just to find this board again. You can't get here from ebay. I had to dig out an old mobile link. I wasn't really looking for jewelry, but you're all some of the most astute ebay people I know so I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
i have a pair of pre-owned "luxury" Italian loafers with no size on the shoe, none, nada, nowhere. I'm trying to figure out how to size them. I can't find a shoe board if it exists. Does anyone know if there is an ebay users board group for shoes? Or does anyone happen to know how to size unmarked shoes?
When I gave up drinking I forgot to take selling on ebay in mind. I may have to rethink that.

OP3 years agoThe plan is to winter in Texas around the Killeen area. That of course will depend on how soon we can get the rig fixed.
Your experience reminded me of that old song ... I Don't Like Spiders and Snakes. LOL
1940fc
·3 years agoI can deal with snakes (non poisonous) but spiders...no way! !!
Altho I do have one of those colorful garden spiders that has made herself at home in a front shrub..I don`t have the heart to tear her down. And no place close enough to move her 'quick enough' that she wouldn`t climb the broom before I could get her re-homed. 😨
LOL I ain`t THAT brave!

OP3 years agoHas been a while since I have been here in the chat. Been busy but think I can slow down a little now. We are currently in Sarcoxie, Mo. It's between Springfield and Joplin. The park is wonderful, lots of room between lots, the bathhouse is gorgeous even has a sauna! There is a fishing pond, swimming pool, and the weather has been wonderful.
So, when we left Tennessee on our way to Indiana, we had a blow out! John did a great job of handling the rig. And we got pulled over but had to wait for the guy to come out and fix it. Since it we were right on the highway, we figured it was better to have some help rather than try to do the change ourselves. We had roadside with our insurance, but they had a heck of a time finding anyone to come out due to our location. Five hours later, a guy showed up. It took him less than an hour to change it. There were less than 5000 miles on the tires.
Once we got to Corydon Indiana, I told John we weren't going back on the road with those tires, so we set it up to get new tires. There was ONLY cosmetic damage to the rig, thank goodness. Called the insurance guy and they came out and did their thing. There wasn't a dealer/repair shop near there and although the town of Corydon was full of antique shops, the camping spot left a lot to be desired.
We checked and found that there was a dealer/repair shop for Forest River in Joplin, twenty miles from where we are now. The best thing is that with Michelle's mother right here we would have a place to stay while they were working on the RV. We already checked in with the dealership and they are ordering the parts. If the horror stories are true about the time frames to get parts and get the work done are true, we are in the best place to wait it out. Besides, there are some great shops around here. I found some great pieces already.
I get along great with Michelle's mother who is only 30 miles away and we love playing tri-ominos, skip-o, and a few more games. So, between enjoying the campground, shopping the little towns around here, and playing games ... I'm a happy camper!

·3 years agoGood to hear from you, Sandy. I was wondering where you were 'roosting' at present time. That`s scary on the blowout! Gladd all worked out as well as it did.
Nice that you are in a good holding place till things get fixed! You can soothe yourself with shopping. 😉 Hope you find some goodies!
All has been quiet round here...so you haven`t missed much!
Ya`ll stay safe & enjoy your visit..I take it you`re working your way back home.
I have made my 'snow' prediction for my area. We will definitely have at least one decent snowfall. I have to take a broom with me waving it out in front of me to knock down the webs. I almost ran smack dab into one with it`s 'owner in the middle' in the garden couple weeks ago.
They are webbing everywhere..last time I dealt with this was 2013/14 (?) when we had a 6" snowfall. Highly unusual for us. So..that`s my prediction..just so it`s snow & not an ice storm LOL
Happy shopping!

1940fc, my supervisor uses a short stool with wheels for low level jobs. It is about 10 or 12" high. She picked it up at Walmart.
1940fc
·3 years agoThat would definitely work, scifi!
I am tinkering with an idea to build something simple I can set on the dining table (kitchen counter might be too high by time I leave space to turn handle)..I think it will be easy to make & I can use the rubber shelf liner or rubber mat stuff to keep it from moving.
I guarantee I`ll have something before next sausage making journey..whether a stool or a DIY thing LOL
I can imagine how great your visit is there, Sandy! Would love to see that museum!

·3 years agoSarah, they make things called furniture or bed risers that may be what you need. I think they're stackable. They come in sets of four, available on ebay.
1940fc
·3 years agoLarry I could kiss you!!! I do have a nice heavy duty set...forgot where they were but I remembered I`d used them under a flower pot this year! LOL
They are each 6" high..I can stack 2 together which will make the height 7 1/2"....then I can add a nice thick board just wide & long enough for my pan & the grinder to fit on..bolt the board & 2 risers together using wing nuts. That should do the trick!
And I can still use the gripping shelf liner to keep it from moving on the table!
Ok..I`d probably get in trouble with a kiss..so sending a big hug instead! 😉
dimakr7
·3 years agoLOL, OK, hug accepted. Glad I could help, you and the other boardies are much appreciated for all the help you've given me.
1940fc
·3 years agoNothin is bolted down yet..but it`s gonna work great! I happened to have a replacement top to a nightstand from way back when we were selling furniture, I set it on the 4 bed risers...put the grinder back together & clamped it to the wood to make sure the handle had plenty room to turn. Now all I gotta do is check my stash of nuts & bolts & I`m good to go!!
Thanks again, Larry..I`d have never thought of this!

Lots of history and lots of fun!

OP3 years agoHi Sarah. Yes, I am still having a ball. Infact, I have been picking up some pieces around here. It's really strange, you would think that around between Baton Rouge and New Orleans there would be lots of goodies, but no. And then here in the middle of Amish country I'm finding pieces. Go figure!
21 jars of carrots! WOW! Think I would not try the beans again. I think the "unusually hot weather" is here to stay.
Glad Fredi is back. The TNR program sounds like it might be a good idea. If you bring him inside, I bet the two cats will find their own space in the house until they get use to one another. Or at least, I hope.
Michelle has Friday off and we are planning on going and exploring Nashville. Should be fun.
Hope you and yours have a great 4th along with the others here on the board.

·3 years agoI did it!! I processed 13 1/2 lbs of pork shoulder into sausage. I used 3 different flavors I`d bought from Nesco, cooked a tiny pc after mixing and they are all deelish!!!
Only real problem I had (somebody gonna have to help me outta bed in the morning I`m afraid lol) was

OP3 years agoCongrats! Looks good. Have you thought about doing like an apple sausage or adding cheese. I buy the apple sausage every once in a while, they are delicious. I think they just grind the apples and then infuse it in the meat. I see your doing patties. Are you going to advance to the links?
We are headed to Nashville for the next two days. We have tickets for the hop on and off tours. I'll bring back some pictures.
1940fc
·3 years agoNope..only patties for now or just vacuum seal by the lb. Then I`ll move on to getting some canned (loose) I do in 8oz jars..just enuff for the 2 of us for sausage gravy. Frees up freezer space 😉
Enjoy Nashville..can`t wait to see pics!

·3 years agoOOOO I`d like to run right into that pretty garden..looks so cool & inviting!!!
Good to see ya Sandyl..hope ya`ll still having tons o fun!
I just finished canning 21 jars of glazed carrots this morning...watered what`s left of the garden..picked last of the beans..some cukes, tomatoes. The heat has been so wicked...my maters ripened extra fast! LOL Just have a few left on the vines..but that`s ok. I`ve enjoyed sharing them & eating them myself 😉
Is tempting to plant another round of beans..but if the heat continues..won`t be good on them when time to bloom..so I`ll pass.
My boy, Fredi continues to behave himself lol. Glad I found out about the TNR program here..explains everything..especially the clipped ear! So I don`t think I have to share him with other 'parents' now lol
Seriously considering trying to bring him in..but not too sure with JJ. Don`t know if I have the patience it would take to get them used to each other..nor how to go about it..
Otherwise..whatcha been up to??
