·5 months agoIt sucks for sure. I can't use FedEx or UPS easily, so I'm stuck with USPS. I've been slowly pushing my prices up for the last year to accommodate the rising cost of bubble wrap and envelopes and paper and ink and tape. I guess I need to push them up again. I've gotten to the point where I need this income to survive, so I can't give up and walk away. We won't even talk about what the economy has done to my day job. Anybody want some doors and windows?

As for USPS, they're angling to put themselves out of business, slowly but surely. First class mail has all but gone away, and if they keep raising rates no one is going to be able to afford to use them for packages barring other choices. Sellers stuck with USPS may end up out of business because they won't be able to charge enough to offset the increases in expenses. If the USPS has to support itself, and it was never supposed to, the slide to oblivion is inevitable. If not oblivion, than drastic change.

·5 months agoI hear you. I am pretty furious about the increase myself. USP has gotten so high lately that many of my 8 oz or higher items are cheaper to ship UPS or Fed Ex. With USPS raising the price another 8%, now my 4 oz packages will probably be cheaper with those alternative shipping companies too. I am so sick of it. When does it end. I sell many $10 to $30 items and people will not want to pay the hefty shipping cost. Plus, if we raise our shipping prices to the buyer, ebay gets more money because they charge us the finial value fee percentage on our shipping too. I bet ebay is super happy right now. They always have to squeeze more and more out of us blue collar folk. The rich keep getting richer as the middle glass get poor and the poor get super poor.

You can use your favorite search engine to read all about what's happening in the "Strait of Hormuz" that's causing fuel prices to skyrocket. Then come back and tell us how USPS is being greedy by passing on the cost of fuel.
Elections have consequences. Not here to tell you who to vote for, that's none of my business. but when you "FA" you will "FO".

·5 months agoDidn't the post office invest in electric delivery trucks a couple of years ago? I seem to remember that they spent millions updating their fleets. I know I've seen a lot of them, even here in Missouri.
