Happy Jewish New Year Eye Candy Wednesday
Today is New Year's if you're Jewish. That said, it's Eye Candy Wednesday. Post some if you have some. Keep the images smaller to speed loading, and as usual nothing from a live sale.
In honor of the day, some prehistoric photos. The olive wood Kiddush cup went to a rabbi friend years ago. It was made for the Passover and older than me. Not sure about the bracelet any more, except it came from an estate sale about 15 years ago. So did the other Jewish goodies. One pendant says Shalom and there was a nice Hamsa in the lower far left.

·1 year agoI had very, very good luck with finding items since bemoaning things on the Source thread recently. Just goes to show...!
Seriously, though, this kind of windfall doesn't happen that often, so I should consider buying a lottery ticket maybe??
The watch chain is 10k, and so is the charm attached to the watch chain. The three stone gold ring is 10k.
The knobby silver ring is sterling. I bought these at a thrift store.
I bought these at a garage sale.
The rings vary from 10k to 18k.
The bracelet is set with diamonds and marked 10k
The cluster earrings are 18k, screwbacks.
Total price... $18.
I bought this lovely enamel compact at a local vintage market.
It cost $3.
I truly thought finds like this were a thing of the past.

·1 year agoArlene, would you mind publishing the address of that thrift store 🤣? Super score there! On top of that, you find a garage sale selling gold for peanuts. You really stepped in it last week! Hehe! Love the compact, too â¤ï¸. Thanks for sharing and motivating!
I hit an estate sale this morning. Stinky, smelly, mildewy, dirty house, and the prices were RETAIL! Waste of time. Gonna try another one tomorrow, but I know the woman who is running it and her prices are up there, too, but sometimes she misses something. Hope to find one of her misses ðŸ˜.

OP1 year agoArlene hit the score for the week! Somebody had to find something. Dream's estate sale sounds about like it's been here, metaphorically anyway in terms of smell but dead on for prices. We have to keep our eyes out for the mistakes.

·1 year agoPicked up a nice little lot today for $5.00. Danecraft sterling bangle. Little sterling bar pin. Haven't tested the stone yet. Pretty green clip-on earrings and a new flower brooch because people like flowers. The winner is the Crown Trifari key and crown brooch. I know the woman who ran the sale and she told me she just came into a huge lot of super high-end jewelry and she'll let me have first dibs when she sorts it out. Lots of Czech stuff 😛.
I need my head examined because I also bought a bunch of depression glass 🤔.
