Accounting software help please?
Just wondering what software people are finding best for keeping track of the resell information? I used to be a hobbyist seller and used a manual logbook. After checking my sales this year, I need a better tracking system but most of the ones that I find are more complicated than I need. I don't need invoices or payroll, just a system that tracks the basics. Purchases, fees, shipping and cost of goods. Any suggestions?

·10 months agoYou only sell 1,3,5 items a day. Very easy to input in a spread sheet;
Make rows, each titled
1.) Gross
2.) Item Cost
3.) Shipping Cost
4.) Fees
5.) Profit
and have it always total at the top
Do 1 sheet for each month.
Easy.
1 is what will be on a 1099
2,3,4 will be your 'write offs'
5 is for your own benefit
You can also write off (up to)
Shipping materials
Home Use (percentage)
Mileage/to from getting stuff, buying business stuff etc.
50% of SS Tax that you will pay on Profit
50% of med insurance
See a tax person for more info (HR Block type will work)

It works like excel, without the extra $$$ðŸ˜

·10 months agoI too use Google Docs and Sheets to track my expenses: mailing supplies etc and sales: both original price (receipt/year or appraisal, suggested price info if I have them) then sales data.
Lat year I took eBay's monthly and year-end reports and uploaded those into a doc. It was a tad messy at first and took an afternoon of deleting what tables I didn't need and such. Good for tax purposes when needing to file.
*Reminds me I'm over due to update the last quarter info. 😉
