Wanting to sell a diamond ring for 1K-Questions re: shipping and Ebay Auth Svc

I believe this will qualify for Authenticity Verification and that it is a free service by ebay. I can calculate the shipping cost from me to the buyer, but wanted to know if ebay charges the seller a shipping cost to send the item to them (ebay) for the verification as well? Just trying to understand what my total fees/costs will be.

Whenever I have jewelry authenticated, I ship by USPS, and then the authenticator uses USPS to ship the item on to the buyer.

Since eBay requires signature delivery on orders of $750+, that should be an automatic addition when you go to purchase your label. But always check to be sure, as that's a definite requirement on your end.

ou could add a handling fee to cover that cost.

If you want to minimize your risk, you will also have the chance to purchase insurance to cover the full value of your ring when you purchase your shipping label.

Anything over $750, you need a signature.

Unless you have free shipping, the buyer pays you to ship it, then you pay the carrier.

Thanks for the quick response. Sorry for not being clearer about the shipping question. I have never used the ebay jewelry authentication service before. When I sell the item, it will go to ebay first and they will ship to buyer. I can calculate the shipping cost from me to the buyer, but does ebay charge the seller an additional shipping cost to send the item to them (ebay) for the authentication?

No, they don't charge for the shipping to them.
