PT - Platinum?
Hi all - can anyone verify the material for me here, please? I find it hard to imagine this is Platinum. It’s marked Italy and 925 PT. Thoughts?

·1 year agoIt's probably a perfectly legal stamping....BUT.....I can't help but think that this is cleverly designed with the intent to deceive some buyers. It almost certainly is sterling/vermeil, though.

Perfectly said. Another stamp that grinds me is PL, I have this stamped on a watch and it stands for plum. So my watch reads 18k PL. Good grief!

PL is the element abbreviation for Platinum as well as Plat.
 
Your necklace is probably Vermeil ( base is sterling 925 and Platinum covered)
This way of stamping jewelry 2 different and even 3 can be very confusing to most folks.

PT = gold plated (or possibly a reference to the location / maker)
I don't believe it's platinum.
