Could be wrong, but the close up of the sterling mark looks like it has Hebrew letters for the maker. I don't recognize it off the top, but I hope this might be helpful.
Hi Mae!!!! This one's got me stumped as well. I've rotated it, translated it, searched MM on it. I'll include a couple different rotated photos I have. The one that the OP took with the Sterling mark looks different than the one on the center front.
Now, it reminds me of somewhat NA with the sterling and the MM being several combined letters. Anyway look at my rotated pics and see what you think..
 there is a "P" and an "E" but is that an "L"?
 now, it looks like an "H" & " M"
 now I see R, E and E. The R is backward, that's why this one looks NA to me as one often sees MM done this way.
I tried each one of these to translate but with no avail.
Now I see it rotated and it matches the other mark, I rescind my "Hebrew" line of thought. Those are English letters
I agree that the mark resembles NA marks, but the style is so unusual. Both to "American" jewelry and Native American silver work. The closest I came to was north African/Touareg amulets!
