I just sent a package to the wrong address and USPS couldn't stop it. What should I do?
I sent a package to the wrong address. How do I correct it? the post office said they couldn't stop it. I'm rather new at this and haven't had this issue before.

·10 months agoPlease provide more info @barya_6534 . Did you make an error and ship to an address other than what was on the eBay order?
Or did the buyer contact you to say it went to the wrong address (because they provided the wrong address at checkout)?
Is the package still in transit or has it been delivered?

OP10 months agoThe order was sent to the wrong customer and it"s still in transit. I sent a note to that customer explaining that an error was made and when she receives the order to hold on to it until she hears from me. Can I have her mail it to the right customer off of the platform or does everything have to be on ebay? Thanks for helping out .

·10 months agoThe safest option is to have the customer send it back to you, then you reship to the correct customer.
Generally speaking, you should never share a buyer's private information (by way of shipping label or otherwise) with another buyer unless you have their written consent.
You also don't know if the buyer receiving it will open it or damage it or what.
At this point I'd communicate with the buyer that isn't getting their item in a timely manner. Ask if they want to wait a bit or if they prefer a refund, and you can always alert them if/when you get the item back to reship. It's cleaner to refund them and start over with a new transaction.
While you can file a package intercept as suggested above, that runs about $19 if successful, and it's not always successful. For lightweight items like jewelry it's more cost effective to provide a prepaid return label. You can buy a label from the USPS website or from PirateShip.com and send it in eBay messages to the buyer that's receiving the package.

·10 months agoWhat a same situation. I boght this 2 clothes ( same brand)
I wanted just same clothes. So I bought both. And the seller send 1 item to me.
2 nd item to wrong address and not my name either.
Ebay told me seller violated buyer privacy policy.
Also ebay told me they are looking into it.
Seller kept accusing me. Say it is delivered.
USPS SUPERVISOR told me and gave me photo copy
Still this day Seller kept say she is right and I am wrong.
All I WANT TO GET REFUND.

How do you know it's the wrong Addy? You can pay the post office to have that package intercepted back to you.
