How can I find out what kind of beads these are? Amber?
I have tested with semi-chrome but it did not come bakelite so I'm thinking maybe Amber but I have no knowledge of beads at all any help would be grateful. Thanks

·2 years agoIf you touch the beads to your cheek, does it feel warm or cool?

·2 years agoNot my area of expertise, but I have a couple of thoughts. (1) the slightly variable shape / graduated size indicates something natural that has been worked into beads. (Uniform size and shape or perfectly graduated usually means manmade). This is one way to test genuine pearls vs synthetic. (2) if the weight is light (density low) it could be natural resin. Amber seems unlikely given the string. If it’s relatively dense, and somewhat cold to the touch, it could be dyed coral. (3) it looks natural. It looks handmade. It doesn’t look like “lost treasure†but it looks semi-nice. Just my 2 cents

·2 years agoI second what @kabour_4195 said. They are too opaque to be amber.

·2 years agoMaybe carnelian or glass? They do not have the translucency or imperfections of amber. They appear to have a very high polish with no striations or color variation.
