Heidi Daus database?
I recently came across several pre-owned Heidi Daus pieces and was able to identify all but one. I can't find any information on a signed pocketwatch (no necklace) with a smooth back and stopwatch type face. Does anyone know of a database or a website with information on Heidi Daus' watches and clocks? It appears to be a bit older, but I know very little about her history or when this might have been produced. The watch is similar to this...

What I know about Heidi Daus is that she's a tad better than generic costume jewelry designers. She used to be a fashion designer and branched out to her jewelry line around the early 2000s.
She is found on the shopping network HSN and these pieces will come from China. So that's probably where your time piece came from ( HSN). Now, QVC has a site that you can view all there designers but I don't know about HSN.
I briefly looked at some of her time pieces on the bay, prices range from $ 49- $120. Your piece should be in working order.
Heidi loves alot of art deco and that style, lots of flash and bling. She does donate to a bunch of woman organizations so that's cool with me. She always reminded me of Kirk's Folly and Betsey Johnson ( if they had a baby 😆).
So overall, Heidi daus is a better than average jewelry designer supplying the home shopping networking crowd.

OP1 year agoI'm thinking I may just list it as "Signed Heidi Daus Pocket Fob Pendant Watch Untested" and price it on the lower end. From what I've been able to find, Heidi has been out of the watch game for several years, and the last fob/pocket/pendant watches were released around the time of the last Alice in Wonderland movie.
I generally don't mess with watches at all just because, again, I really hate to sell anything I know absolutely nothing about. I can't even figure out where or how the battery would be changed on this lovely thing, or where I could take it to get it checked out. I got it this past summer/early fall and it's been sitting in my "to be listed" jewelry since then. It's so pretty, I'd love to have it go to a home where it will be loved, but I don't want to risk disappointing a collector.

·1 year agoMost of those timepieces were originally necklace pendants and reversible (not one sided like yours) but it's possible yours was originally a necklace. It seems the collection was called "Timing is Everything" so maybe use those keywords to draw in people looking for those items.

OP1 year agoI did see several of those, but this particular one looks a lot more like her deco watches. It's chunkier and doesn't have any signs of having been attached to a toggle or anything else. The face actually looks more like a stopwatch than the faces on those pretty Alice in Wonderland watch pendants. The one thing that worries me is the lack of a model number. Most of her regular watches seem to have them somewhere between the "Japanese Movement" and "Made in China". However, I do know this is often missing with very early models of any particular item so it's more of niggle in the back of my head than a serious concern.
Guess I'll put on the old librarian hat and start sleuthing in earnest. If worse comes to worst, I may just have to keep it. 🙂

You can find smaller jewelry stores or business that replace batteries for you and it's not that much, usually around $10.
I would avoid the keyword " untested" ( works on record players not watches lol) you can use non running, needs battery. But 1st check your area for watch repair, watch batteries ( our Ace hardware does it).
