Brooch marked Solid Gold
Hi, can anyone help me with anything on this brooch? It is marked on back solid gold, with no maker mark. Not sure what material the green stone is. The piece weighs 9.14 grams. Measures 1 1/16" round. The back clasp is broken off. I am unfamiliar with jewelry and want to list it properly. Thanks in advance for any information.

Don't list this piece until you have had it tested. You can go to a local pawn shop and they will test it for you.
Ignore your gram weight reading, you have a large stone in this brooch that uses up most of the weight.
Being marked Solid gold ( which is very soft gold) is a little on the strange side without a purity mark ( law of 1906) It could be a custom piece or a fake.
Before you do anything, have it tested. You can decide after that to sell it for scrap or have it repaired.

·1 year agoI’m sure the jewelry experts will weigh in, but that ring sure doesn’t have the appearance of what I would expect gold jewelry to look like. I don’t think that stamp saying “solid gold†means very much.
Cartier this is not.

·1 year agoI'm not, by any means, an expert, but it looks like aventurine. I had a ring years ago that it reminds me of. I remember something about it being lucky.
