Authenticity Guarantee is a complete SCAM - I see it over and over on these conversations

Sold a David Yurman bracelet that I purchased at Neiman Marcus, sent it to authenticator without any thoughts, get a note back that "item did not pass authenticity". Why? Nothing, no explanation, no comments. I appeal. Same comment. Didn't pass. I write and email, no information back. It didn't pass. Meanwhile the buyer, who has never bought on ebay, who took the time to try and buy it outside of ebay, leaves me crap feedback after receiving the refund. So now I have bad feedback after 20 years of selling and no response from ebay. No information from ebay whatsoever, even though I send the receipt. What a joke. Such a scam.

·8 months agoThis thread addresses the underkarating of gold. When it happened to me (item not as stamped by manufacturer) I was able to salvage the sale with a partial refund. If the buyer never responds, I guess you don't get a chance to do that.

·8 months agoI recently sold a ring that went to the Authenticator (GIA in Carlsbad, CA). I had listed the ring as 14 K gold and it came back as "Minor issue found" and "the metal purity does not match the listing. We tested it to be at least 13 K". The buyer never responded to me or the Authenticator and the ring was returned to me and the buyer refunded. I contacted eBay to get an explanation of the report. eBay should have provided me a copy of the GIA report. I have now re-listed the ring and it will have to go to the GIA again once I sell it! This seems like a waste of time.

·9 months agoInitiate a chat with their bot, type "speak with agent". They will give you the option to chat with an agent or have them call you back. Choose call you back. They WILL call you back pretty promptly.
When you get to an agent, tell them you need to speak with a manager in the jewelry authentication department. This may take a little bit of effort, but if you are persistent, you will get there. That manager may also have to call you back.
When you do eventually speak to the authentication department, this is an eBay agent, not someone from GIA. But this manager will be able to at least tell you why your item didn't pass.
I am guessing since you literally "have the receipts", it is something not to do with it being an authentic Yurman piece. Maybe a gem is technically incorrectly described, a measurement or a weight is off, the metal didn't test true, etc.
I have had a couple of pieces not pass. In every case for me (although my pieces were not "designer" items), I could not disagree with their findings, and I felt better knowing why they were rejected. And I was able to salvage the sales with the buyers on their relistings.
