    A Stone by any other name...........................

    makes a more interesting listing.

    Unless it's really just  a "stone".

    Since I can't recall ever seeing any jewelry with just a common stone in it, I have to ask....is this just a blue stone or does it have a name?

    And the green....just glass?

    I appreciate the endorsement, Silver!  This is a little out of my wheelhouse, but coral is a definite possibility.   Blue is not a common coral color, but it certainly occurs in this color and isn't all that expensive.   Other thoughts that entered my mind immediately were lapis, sodalite, larimar, and azurite.  But the round pits does more closely resemble coral.

    The green stone does look like peridot.  Under strong magnification, indicators for peridot are "lily-pad" inclusions, noticeable doubling of the back facets, and abraded facet junctions.

    Best of luck!

    Look at the back and you can see the "shafts" of the coral.

    Seeing all those "pits" and divots, I would say it is coral.

    I have a 4 inch sphere very similar "pitting" and it's coral.

    What with that, I am now reluctant to list it at all, since I can't be sure what it is, although coral seems more likely. The divots, etc, though, aren't very noticeable at a normal distance.

    @momdadsstash

    The blue stone looks exactly like my Blue denim Lapis earrings and the green stone is Peridot my birthstone!

      I like it!

    Thanks for that, sst. With that name I looked into it and what I see are "all" others are smooth and polished.

    This is rough, even has some small pits.

    Not being strictly a "polished" person, I like it...but  doesn't it also mean a great reduction in value from a not very valuable base to begin with?

    I might be better off just to keep it or put it in with a lot?

    @momdadsstash

    Let's get my friend @idealgems1 ( he's the expert)

    Q: this is a silver piece, is your snake chain also silver? I hate for you to put it in a lot when it could sell by itself.

        It desperately needs some cleaning, I use Simichrome on my items as it's a polishing cream. If you don't have, good soapy water will work on the stones but will need something stronger on the Silver.

        Let's wait for poster " ideal to come by ( he's a geologist)

        I did go look again at my Denim Lapis stone, mine is polished and NA signed but same color, your stone is in raw form ( I still like) Silver
