eBay failed to protect a buyer this time
Summary: scoutmaniac shared a frustrating experience with an eBay purchase of a portable tea set. The package was not delivered to their address, and while the Post Office tracked the delivery, they confirmed it went to an incorrect location. However, due to privacy regulations, they couldn't disclose the delivery address to scoutmaniac. Despite these findings, eBay closed the case without assisting, merely stating that the package was marked as delivered. They also expressed disappointment with eBay's feedback system, noting that negative feedback left for the seller did not appear publicly.
I had a case with a seller. I bought a portable tea set from them and I did not receive any package from them. I opened a case and let eBay know that the tracking notifications were false because the item was delivered to another address. The Post Office is looking into it. The Postmaster at my PO tracked the delivery and he told me the GPS data showed that the package was not delivered to my address. He would not tell me the address listed to the tracking number because I was not the shipper. Obviously, eBay did not do anything but run a tracking report - which said the package had been delivered. I never contested that, what I contested was that the package was delivered to my address. eBay closed the case and basically said too bad - you got burned, but there is nothing we can do because we don't want to spend too much time on this matter. Sorry for your luck. I gave negative feedback to the seller, but it never showed up in their feedback. What good is feedback? I would caution anyone doing business with the seller because they have a history of selling items from Amazon and having them drop shipped to the eBay buyer directly from Amazon. Not sure if this was what they did here, but I didn't get it. eBay failed me this time.

·1 month agoGet a letter from USPS stating the package was not addressed or delivered to you.
Go to your purchase history and click Return Item and select Not As Described/Doesn't Match Description as the reason.
Seller will either refund or pay to have something returned.
If they accept the return, make a copy on the letter from USPS and ship it to them.
