    Just went down the rabbit hole about Redd Foxx. If any of you are old enough to remember him, you would remember during Sanford and Son, he often would clutch his chest and say this is the big one, and look up to let his wife know that he was coming. Ironically, he died of a heart attack on set during a break in filming a show the Royal Family.

    @susaayal

    Perhaps Samuel Gompers, who was the founder of the American Federation Of Labor, and served as national president from 1877 to 1894, and then from 1895 to his death in 1924?

    Fairly likely this individual did not attain national renown.  Perhaps a local civic leader or an important member of a fraternal organization.  I cannot make out the insignia stamped on the reverse - is there anything there that is readable to your eyes?  Also, check the curl (rim); that may give the maker’s name and you might at least get a clue for the region where this man resided.  And sometimes the curl notation contains a patent date.

    Also, it doesn’t look like celluloid, so I’ll guess it is less than 90 years old.

    I didn't train the AI. I only quoted it.

    I guess someone should file an INAD claim under the Ebay MBG. I'll refund whatever they paid me for the post.

    William Jennings Bryan?

    He's changed in appearance...

    Photo from 1925 (year of his death):

    The image displays a vintage pin button featuring a portrait of

    William Jennings Bryan and the inscription "WE MOURN OUR LOSS".

    @susaayal
    The answer is late but a google AI assisted search of the image yields.

    This pin button is a piece of political memorabilia, likely issued as a memorial or tribute following a significant event, such as a death or a major political defeat.

    Details:
    • The central figure is William Jennings Bryan (1860-1925), a prominent American politician, lawyer, and orator who was a three-time Democratic nominee for President of the United States.
    • The phrase "WE MOURN OUR LOSS" indicates a period of grief or remembrance, potentially linked to Bryan's passing in 1925 or a significant setback in his political career.
