Vintage Coach authentication help
Summary: stephanie6431 requested help authenticating a vintage item, noting issues with seam alignment, rivet shapes, buckle engravings, and questioning a serial number that appeared to suggest a fake. albertabrightalberta confirmed that the J8Y prefix is indeed invalid, indicating the item is likely not genuine.
Just received this and need some help with authenticating it.
Points in question:
some seams don't line up, but stitching otherwise looks good
Back of rivets on strap aren't completely round/smooth
Back of buckles read "solid brass"
Googling the number on the creed patch and it says J8Y is always fake?
Thanks a ton!!!

Although googling isn't necessary the most accurate way for getting info, it this case, Google was correct - J8Y is an invalid serial prefix and is only on fakes.
