My vintage Coach bag was recently flagged as counterfeit by eBay's automated system. I am hoping the expert authenticators here can take a look and help confirm its authenticity so I can appeal the bot's decision with customer support.
Bag Details:
Style: Coach Shoulder drawstring bag from the late 1980s / early 1990s "Lightweights" collection.
Measurements: Approximately 11" H x 10" W at the base.
Creed Details: Stamped "Made in the United States" on unlined, thin, supple leather.
Serial Number: 0361-035 (Pre-1994 random numeric registration format, which does not contain the style number).
Hardware & Zippers: Solid brass hardware but again, lightweight. The interior pocket features a completely blank, unmarked vintage metal zipper slider, which is correct for this specific era of production.
I have attached clear photos of the bag's silhouette, dimensions, solid brass hardware anchors, and the drawstring setup. This is a much lighter weigh than the small backpack I have from the 90’s Any confirmation or notes you can provide to help me show eBay that this pre-1994 registration number is correct would be greatly appreciated! I can send more photos of necessary. Thank you

Sometimes removals aren't necessarily for an item being fake so the text of the message can be informative. (Your bag is authentic.)

OP1 week agoThank you. I know this bag is not counterfeit but it does feel different than what I’m used to from coach. This is the blurb from eBay. They tell me I cannot reslist as well:
”We had to remove one or more of your listings for not following our Counterfeit policy. We understand that this must be frustrating. But don’t worry — we’re here to help!

·1 week agoUgh! I wish people who knew Coach would review listings. That a customer service agent didn't recognize this bag as authentic is very sad. (I've also seen decisions by CS agents in which they've determined that obvious fakes were judged not to be in violation.)

Although the item is absolutely authentic, it should not have been relisted, especially after your appeal(s) were denied.

OP1 week agoThank you so much for your help. This post must have helped too as eBay sent me a second email and said they approved my appeal after they originally denied it. Ebay automatically relisted my coach bag. It is a unique bag as the color is so different and it’s thinner leather too.
