Gucci
I just sold my first Gucci handbag. I thought I could pay the $40. and have ebay authenticate. After much searching I now see it has to sell for over 200. which it did not. Now what do I do? Thanks

Items and brands that list or sell at the minimum price for the "authenticity guaranteed" program are sent directly to the authenticator following a sale. There's no charge to the buyer or the seller for the authentication.
Once the item passes both authenticity and "as described and photographed" in the listing, it's forwarded to the buyer.
When an item's price is below the free authentication threshhold ($500) but between $200 and $499.99, the buyer can opt to pay $40 for an authentication.
Since your item falls well below any of the AG pricepoints, it doesn't qualify for either option.
With that said and without intending to insult you, your pictures in the listing are awful, blurry and show nothing that proves authenticity. You need clear well-focused pictures of all parts of the bag, including the tab with the Gucci logo and the serial number on the back.
Personally, I'd opt for an independent reputable authentication company, one that has a good knowledge of the brand(s) you want to verify.
The company I've used for Gucci charges $10 and they are excellent. They send a PDF version of a COA that states whether it's genuine or not.
Note that sellers are required to know items are authentic BEFORE listing. (I hope you know whether your bag is authentic!)
If you get it verified prior to listing, you can include a copy of the COA in your listing giving potential buyers peace of mind that they're getting what they paid for.
I'm not allowed to recommend a company unless you ask so f you'd like to know the company I've used, just respond and I'll let you know who I've used.

·8 months agoI've used Authentic Detective for several different brands and several categories of items. His prices are extremely reasonable, he's very quick at responding to questions and he's quick to do the authentications.

·8 months ago@albertabrightalberta Do you send the item to them, or is this all done through photos?

·8 months agoFor the items I've submitted, they do it through photos. But the pictures have to be much better and show a lot more closeup detail and parts of the bag that the OP doesn't show in her listing.
I think Gucci can be done through good pictures.
There may be some brands and/or styles of items that have been so closely faked that authenticators need to have them in hand. (Before the Chanel Etinceler ladies retired, they needed to have physical possession of some bags because of the superfakes.)
