gg MARMONT BELT BAG
MERRY CHRISTMAS! I was hoping that some of you could help me with a problem. I was given a Gucci belt bag from a relative and they went to the Gucci Store to get it. I posted pictures on Ebay - it is a belt bag and to small for me. I didnt include the serial number pictures in my posting and dont know if I should have?
that is the first question and can you hel pme understand why they said my bag is counterfeit. I did use a picture from the Gucci website which I know is a NO-NO, but can you take a look at this and tell me if anything stands out to you?

We'll just have to agree to disagree. Since the Marmont bags are so highly and so well faked, clearly, the counterfeiters are copying them and fooling buyers and sellers.
I also find it odd that @karafkenny knew and cared enough to come here after her listing was removed but since then, she hasn't returned to show more pictures as requested, answered other questions that were asked, disclosed who "authenticated" it yet she saw fit to relist.
IMO, that's taking a huge chance, especially since the bag will be going to the authentication center and may possibly be confiscated. (And when the authentication center deems items as fake, those listings are removed from ebay and sellers get dinged.)
I don't know....I just think it's very risky.

·3 years agoI certainly don’t want to advocate for anyone, but let’s leave this to the Authenticators to decide, that bag will have an RFID embedded during manufacturing, there should also be a specific details they will be privy to.

·3 years agoTo the poster, everything that you have listed appears to be pricey designer merchandise. I hope that you have receipts because ebay will ask to see receipts before they release the funds.

·3 years agoAll the items the OP has listed are not highly copied items, with some exception. But those are all available at outlet stores from their respective companies highly discounted. Even Saks and Neiman Marcus online ran some pretty deep discounts recently often beating outlet prices and in some cases, sample sale prices.

·3 years agoSorry but the bag is no question counterfeit snd cannot be legally sold. Your relatives were not truthful. That awful stamping aside, the leather and stitching are not Gucci.

Did you notice that the bag is now listed again by the OP?
@karafkenny
I sure hope you got this bag professionally authenticated before relisting it! If it sells and goes to the authentication company after a sale, you may not get it back if they find it to be counterfeit!
You say you have a COA. May I ask what company authenticated it? And how would they have authenticated it based on the blurry, incomplete set of pictures shown? You still don't show a picture (straight on) of the tab with the serial number!
ETA: And if it's genuine Gucci, why would you listed as G U C C I ?

·3 years agoI have to disagree. I purchased some bags from the Gucci online employee store (Kering) prior to them shutting it down and received items of questionable quality. This bag in particular was offered for sale at at least two Gucci Outlet stores and they seem to have sold them highly discounted ($500) with no returns or exchanges so they are probably blems. I believe those were purchased in that sale.

·3 years agoI understand there can be QC issues with construction or shelf wear. But problems with hardware, fonts, stamping, etc. just won't vary except on fakes.

·3 years agoYou would be surprised what slips through at Gucci, which is why you’ll find many oddities at the Gucci Outlets. There’s a reason those stores exist. Higher end bag manufacturers (LV, Chanel, Hermes) would destroy questionable merchandise not befitting of their standards but that’s not the policy at Kering.
When Alessandro Michelle took the reins as head of design at Gucci one of his first decrees was to eliminate the yearly sample sales. A lot of merchandise that would have headed there ended up at the now disbanded online employee store and outlets (Kering doesn’t make outlet specific merchandise).
One of Kerings floundering brands, Brioni, has been ramping down production of Brioni branded goods and clothing and has focused those factories into transitioning into making Gucci (this coincided with the most recent meteoric rise of the Gucci brand). In the process of this transition there was a period of poor manufacturing.
Again, this particular bag was included in those heavily discounted items sold at the outlets (specifically Woodbury and Orlando Outlets). I highly doubt that that same bag happens to be the bag that counterfeiters selected to copy when they could have opted to make more profitable and popular Chanel bags with similar efforts. Certainly I could be wrong, I’ve learned that you should expect the unexpected. I’m just giving my opinion which is very based.
