How do I report a fake item illegally sold on eBay? It is an item I purchased that was listed as a Coach bag. I received it today and can tell it is clearly a fake.

Have you ever read the eBay Money Back Guarantee for buyers?

·1 month agoSadly, if eBay, Coach/Tapestry or 99% of the humans on the internet cant tell an authentic coach bag from a counterfeit one their agenda does not concern selling 100% authentic bags, and if they can't tell....do you really think they care about your opinion? They have removed the reporting feature from hundreds of members if not thousands. They rely on their return policy to cover themselves, and could really care less about broken hearts. It's very sad.

·2 months agoeBay has no way of knowing if you are the utmost authority on Coach purses, or just someone with bad intentions towards the seller - so reporting it will have little, if any, effect on the seller.
Seller's make mistakes, it may not be intentional and if it is an obvious fake - it appears they do not know how to tell. Around here there are more fakes ones than real ones, so I don't bother even looking at them at estate sales, garage sales or resale stores. I assume they are all fakes and leave it to someone who has taken the time to learn how to tell.
It arrived not as described - start a claim, send it back, get your refund, and put a period behind it.

Before you accuse and/or report the seller, I recommend that you either post the item number or post pictures of the bag you received to have it looked at.
There have been dozens of times that buyers "know" they received fakes and often, those items aren't fake at all.
And the corollary is that often, buyers receive a fake and they're sure it's the real deal.
While it's very possible you did get a counterfeit Coach bag and you will have recourse should it be confirmed, you need to verify first .

Have you contacted the Seller?
Once you do that, and if they are not helpful, you can open an Item Not as Described return request on eBay. The Seller will have three business days to respond with either a prepaid return label or a refund. If they do not, on the 4th day go back to your request and ask eBay to step in and force the refund.
But you need to open that request on eBay to start the refund process.
