Does eBay authenticate every sold handbag?
I purchased a said to be, vintage Coach bag on eBay. When I received it, the bag nowhere on it says coach Doesn’t have a creed And the stamp on the hangtag is crooked Also, when I look up the type of bag, it was listed as it’s not quite the same The seller has told me over and over and over that it is authentic. I have several coach vintage bags and this one just feels off. it’s a hassle for me to return it, and the seller has offered a little money in return.

While I believe the hangtag looks good and probably came from a genuine Coach bag, I don't think the bag itself was made by Coach. If it were a Coach bag, there would be some type of marking - either just a Coach stamp without a creed or a creed with or without a serial number.
Additionally, the style of your bag uses a combination of elements from various styles but the style of your bag isn't one that Coach made.
It appears to be a generic leather bag, probably inspired by Coach but not Coach and should not have been sold as Coach.
I recommend you go to your order and open a claim for NAD (not as described) and return it. You didn't get what you paid for.
It doesn't matter that the seller doesn't accept returns. When an item is NAD, a no return policy is out the window.
If the seller gets the bag back, she can certainly relist it as an "unbranded" leather bag but she should NOT include the hangtag nor should she describe it as Coach or Coach-like.
Feel free to refer the seller here if she questions your claim.

If you post pictures of your bag or the item number of the listing, I can probably help you.
Generally, Coach bags are less expensive than most of the luxury brands that are authenticated through the AG (Authenticity Guaranteed) program.
However I have seen some bags that are authenticated, usually over $500.

OP8 months agoThanks so much! The item number is 127620279567. The leather is great, the hardware lines up with Coach, the only thing is the style doesn’t match the strap and there are zero markings. Was told it was pre-Creed. I have many vintage Coach bags but none that have zero markings.
