Authenticator Question?
Sold a LV bag and sent it off to the authenticator. Since this is a first for me, does eBay inform me of the progress? For instance, when it is actually delivered to the buyer?

I haven't yet had any handbags authenticated by them but I sold a pair of sneakers that went to the "authenticity guaranteed" program. So I can comment on how it worked on my sale.
I use informed delivery so I had tracking showing the trip to the authenticator. It was shipped on a Tuesday, delivered to the authenticator on Wednesday (!!) and on either Thursday or Friday, I got the "Congrats! Your item was authenticated" notification.
It was delivered to the buyer on Monday, so it all happened in less than a week.
I did follow and keep track of the order in my ebay but other than tracking and the passing of authenticity and condition, I didn't get further updates.
For my own experience, I was impressed by the speed in which it happened.
ETA: I believe you probably received a Fedex label to send it to the authenticator. That label would have been supplied by ebay.
Once it passes, they ship to the buyer using the shipping service your listing offered. You'll be given the tracking number and you can go to that carrier's website and request tracking updates to be sent by either text or email - you choose.
When delivered, you'll get the notification of delivery.

OP1 week agoThanks for that info. The bag was shipped USPS, eBay label, apparently by buyer’s choice. I was just wondering because I have always tracked my packages, but I guess eBay’s in charge now.

·1 week agoI sold my LV bag..it went USPS priority mail insured, and was lost for three weeks. The post office was not helpful. It finally showed up 2 weeks later at the authenticator. They were quick and it then went FedEx to the buyer. It was an expensive bag and quite a nightmare.
