Authenticating Two Coach Handbags Bags
I have two coach bags kicking around my house and I cannot confirm that they are authentic.
9927 Willis Bag with bag ID # E6U-9927 and says that it was made in Hungary, you can't see it in this picture but the screws on the hardware appear on the front of the bag. I have another Willis bag where the screws appear on the backside of the bag. I wasn't sure if that was critical for a vintage coat. I suppose someone could have taken the bag apart and put the hardware on backwards. Other than that, the bag appears to be authentic to me. See pictures below:
The other is a 5130 Station bag with bag ID #L8G-5130 and says that it is made in the United States. The bag ID number looks wonky to me. I understand that that isn't uncommon but I also wasn't sure if a USA made bag would have a G. The 8 in the ID would make this bag from 1998 and I was under the impression that Coach stopped making their bags in the US early to mid 1990s:

·1 year agoWithout doing too much digging, I can say that Coach still made bags in the US into the early 2000s.
Did you happen to notice that the Legacy zip bag you sold yesterday was made in the United States in 2001?

OP1 year agoHa! That's too funny. I didn't question that bag at all. I have so many I've collected over the years. It's the ones that have funky creeds that make me question.

·1 year agoBoth bags are authentic. The stamping, font and spacing are correct for the G plant.
