I'm a new victim to this fake tracking number scam and I've been researching and seeing a lot of different stories about this type of scam, I find it scary that ebay still has not protected their customers from this type of thing. I myself have sent ebay proof that a package was not delivered to my home, I have written narratives that outline and point to every single detail as to what happened, the facts are so clear that Stevie Wonder could see them but ebay still will rule in favor of the scammer...How is this possible?. The fact that ebay allows A.I. to ATTEMPT to make a judgement call on a case is crazy on it's own, A.I. is not even a quarter of the way perfect and for sure should not be implemented in situations of disputes or any type of investigation. I'm currently fighting to get my money back on a purchase that was supposed to be back by the money back guarantee but the only guarantee ebay has given me is a guarantee that they are incapable of conducting a proper investigation or using any analytical part of their brain. My story is the same as many others, placed an order for an item coming from China, seller provided one tracking number and then switched to another tracking number, new tracking number shows that the package is coming to the city I live in, package gets delivered to a home that is not mine, open a case and provide screenshots showing my actual doorstep....blah blah blah...we all know the rest....ebay does nothing and sides with the seller, I mean scammer! I really don't understand, it's not hard to find and see the facts, it's not like the other hundreds of horror stories are not out there or hard to find, it's not like we're not discussing this very scam on ebay's platform. Maybe this is just a rant or maybe someone will read this and something will come from it...Idk but this whole thing is crazy and it looks like ebay won't do anything about it. There has to be a way to get some kind of news coverage on this scam and how ebay handles it, there are way too many victims out there and way too many times ebay has dropped the ball and not protected their customers. What's the best way to get your money back from ebay when you're a victim of the fake tracking number scam? We can't let ebay continue to get away with the mishandling of these cases, we need better customer support, better fraud prevention tools, customer service reps that are actually trained properly on how to investigate a case properly, we need less A.I. and more human, I'm tired of trying to convince an A.I. to let me speak to a human. We need a better ebay, it shouldn't be easy for scammers to get paid but hard for innocent customers to get their money back.
