True Religion Authentication and Identification
I found these at a thrift store and want to sell but I'm no expert on fakes.
I reached out to True Religion and they were useless, unfortunately.
Any information on authentication and identification would be much appreciated.
Thank you in advance - Adam Cipriani

·9 months agoThe number that starts with a 10 on the back of the security tag (the middle tag) - I cannot tell from the photos - is it printed or embroidered? It should be printed if it is real.
The stitching looks straight from what I can tell from your pictures. The buttons aren't peeling. Words are spelled correctly. But - the imprinting of the leather patch is way off center. Very sloppy. Hopefully someone else will chime in with their thoughts.

OP9 months agoThe security tag is definitely printed, but you are correct that the leather patch looks terrible now that you pointed it out.
Thank you very much for the input.

OP9 months agoI'm going with fake. After forum searching, the leather tag you pointed out is suspicious, the "made in" USA is not supposed to be in all lowercase, and the size should be directly under made in USA, not on the back of the tage. Too many red flags.
Thanks for your time.

OP9 months agoThanks for the info. I'll just throw them away now.

OP9 months agoMy apologies, I was not serious about throwing them away. I was simply replying sarcastically to the prior troll who went out of their way to provide condescending and irrelevant information regarding my post. My sarcasm did not translate in writing.
If they are fakes, I will donate them. If they are real, they'll get listed in my store.
I'm simply trying to find any perspectives or opinions regarding their authenticity.

·9 months agoDisclaimer: I have no idea whether your pants are fake or authentic.
My comment is only regarding your plan to donate them if they're fakes.
Please don't ever donate fakes -- at least not unless you cut off every label, logo, tag and hardware with the markings.
While I don't advocate adding more carp to landfills, donation centers aren't skilled in authenticating and think nothing of charging big bucks for something with a "name" on it.
I recently saw fake Chanels and fake Guccis at a thrift store for over $400 each. I have little doubt that the buyer will know they're buying a fake and will think that at that price, they're getting the real deal.
I know I'd have a hard time living with myself if I thought my donation ripped off a buyer.

OP9 months agoYes, I agree with you. It's a very fair point.
