General Ball Cap question
I only occasionally sell ball caps & for the first time I have one IDK how to describe. The 'beanie' portion is floppy, not stiff or rigid. In other words, it doesn't hold it's shape, except for the brim.
Is there a specific name for this type of cap? Unstructured is all that comes to mind, but IDK if that's correct.
TIA.

OP2 years ago@wastingtime101 @chapeau-noir Thank you both so much! I will for sure market to women, as I got it for me b/c of the pretty colors, but it doesn't fit me well. I've never heard the term running or sport cap, learned something new today.

·2 years agoYeah, Chapeau is right about the sporty thing. I see women running in those caps all the time.

·2 years agoAh! That's a running cap, also called a sport cap - great for walking, hiking, gardening, etc., because the fabric is light but still provides coverage from the sun. One can even cram a cycling helmet over it. It can also be rolled up onto its brim and stuffed into a pocket.
Fila makes those in a bunch of colours - I'd market that one to women.

OP2 years ago@caldreamer @chapeau-noir @fashunu4eeuh Thanks everyone, I should have included pics, here's a few. It's not a newsboy, it's like a typical baseball style, but the fabric is a thin silky lightweight fabric, so it flops down when not on a head. First pic is with something underneath to keep it's shape, the rest are just to show how it flops around. Maybe it doesn't have a special name?

If the cap you are describing matches the style below, that is sometimes referred to as a corps hat, army patrol cap or military cap.
