The rules for shipping have changed. Your shipped items will be returned to you unless you follow the new guidelines of Pub 52 from USPS. Spare batteries must be in a rigid box. The box must be the outer layer, you cannot put the box in a poly. I have always used the correct labeling by utilizing the drop down when selecting the shipping label to scroll to the hazardous one. I learned last year you also must put the label on the back with the UN3480 label and phone number. Now after many spare batteries lost in transit, I have learned of the new outer box rule that took effect on Jan 27, 2025. The clerk at the post office didn't even know, so I am telling others to spare you the postage I have now lost out on, and possibly the batteries too. There are still 2 of them out there in the system of recent and 2 others from long ago. But others in the middle that were delivered just fine. 🤔

·2 months agoI think most of us who ship that kind of stuff stay up on the rules. Even before the rule change I would never have shipped a li-ion battery (or any battery) in a polymailer or bubble mailer. That is asking for problems. There are a very few exceptions that do not require a UN3480 label. The package is still classified as HazMat and you must declare that at shipment. USPS is cracking down on packages that are HazMat and aren't being delcared that and either are or will soon impement fees if a HazMat package is not declared.Â
